Light Night

We are very excited to be taking part in this year’s Light Night on Friday 4th October.

The Arch Cafe will be open until at least 9pm, for hot food and drink.                We’re thinking bacon sarnies, chill jackets – hearty food to keep you warm! We serve Yorkshire Tea and great coffee. And, of course, home made cake. Food will be available to sit in – the cafe is a very family friendly venue, with a fully accessible toilet and changing facilities.

In addition, we know it’s a packed night and many of you want to dash to the next venue, so all our food and drink will be available for take-out too, so you don’t have to miss out on any of the fun!

All the money spent in the Arch Cafe supports older people across Leeds. Enjoy Leeds. Enjoy Light Night. Feel good about buying some great food.

We’re also chuffed to have a Light Night art installation  in the Harrison Room ‘Little Space’ by Kirsty Ware (@gazpachodragon). http://lightnightleeds.co.uk/?s=kirsty+ware

We have an art exhibition in the cafe by Jane Mullins, as part of the Love Arts Leeds festival  http://loveartsleeds.co.uk/event/love-blossoms-over-time-3/

In addition, our neighbours are joining in Light Night fun!  St John’s church will be open, as will the Howard Assembly Rooms in the Grand Theatre. Come and join us for Leeds’ favourite night.

International Day of Older People

We are delighted to be attending the big Leeds celebration for the International Day of Older People. With the theme of ‘Food, Health and Heritage’ we will be linking in with the Age UK campaign on winter warmth- encouraging older people to prepare and eat a hot meal. We will have some of the Age UK winter warmth recipe booklets to give away, and some delicious sample tasters!

There will be lots of other organisations in attendance, including Leeds Markets and our friend Lynn from Clandestine Cake Club. Hope to see you there!
